It started with three academic staff (assistant prof.) and now consists of seven, three of whom are Assistant professors, The other four are lecturers. Our branch has completed the requirements to grant the Master&#8217;s degree in surgery, eleven students had been graduated with a degree of master in general surgery.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p is carried out at the teaching hospital at a rate of 60 hours per year (2 hours per week) for the fourth degree and 150 hours for the fifth degree in the surgical word and the outpatient department during which students are trained in various surgical cases related to surgery. This includes training on how to collect and write the patient&#8217;s surgical history, learn and practice the clinical examination of the various body organs, and discuss the cases and tests necessary for them to arrive at the correct surgical diagnosis and provide appropriate treatment and follow-up cases and documentation.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The sixth stage curriculum includes clinical training at the teaching hospital for 10 weeks (5 days a week &#8211; 6 hours per day). This includes discussing the most important theoretical and practical topics in surgery in relation to the comprehensive clinical history, clinical examination of the various body organs, tests and laboratory analyses in order to arrive at the correct diagnosis and give appropriate treatment and study and document surgical cases. The clinical training for the sixth stage includes surgical wards and theatre, emergency department, and outpatient. The clinical training also includes preparation and discussion of various surgical topics by students and teachers.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u>Master of surgery<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<strong>First academic year<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>1. The first year (30 weeks):<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia,serif;\">Physiology, basics of surgery, Medical statistics and research methods, microbiology, pharmacy, pathology, forensic medicine and anatomy (Total 11 units)<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia,serif;\">Theoretical: 4 hours per week.<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia,serif;\">Practical: Working as a senior resident doctor in the surgical ward, theatre, emergency room and the outpatient<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia,serif;\">2. The second year (30 weeks):<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia,serif;\">Neurosurgery, thyroid surgery, cardiovascular surgery, plastic surgery, Diagnostic radiology, orthopedic surgery, Urosurgery, GIT and biliaree tree surgery and writing the graduating thesis.
