The Dean of the College of Medicine chairs the regular meeting of the Diyala Medical Journal’s editorial board.

The Diyala Medical Journal’s regular meeting was held in person on Sunday, June 29, 2025. The meeting was chaired by the Dean of the College of Medicine, Professor Ismail Ibrahim Latif, and attended by the journal’s editor-in-chief, Assistant Professor Dr. Anfal Shaker Mutab, and a number of members of the editorial board.
A number of topics on the agenda were discussed during the meeting, most notably developing the journal’s work and intensifying efforts to raise its academic ranking, particularly following its inclusion in the international Scopus index.
The possibility of increasing the editorial staff to match the volume of work and publishing requirements was also discussed. The current obstacles and difficulties facing the journal were also discussed, with appropriate solutions being sought.
The meeting also addressed ways to prepare the journal for submission to the Clarivate index by developing technical and scientific standards that align with the requirements of rigorous publishing.
