The College of Medicine at University of Diyala hold a scientific symposium on the mRNA vaccine
The College of Medicine at University of Diyala hold a scientific symposium on the mRNA vaccine presented by Professor Dr. Areej Atiyah Hussein on the Hall 2 and organized by continuing education unit. The symposium showed that the vaccine is among the new vaccines, which had an effective role in controlling the COVID-19 epidemic during the past two years using the Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna vaccines. The vaccine provides molecules of antigen-encoding mRNA in immune cells, which use the designed mRNA as a blueprint to build foreign protein that would normally be produced by a pathogen. Then the quantity is increased with the polymerase chain reaction (PCR). The mRNA is produced by the transcription process, which is introduced into living cells after confirming the concentration, purity and efficiency of the manufactured mRNA for the purpose of expression and the production of an effective protein, and when the experiment is repeated and the introduction of the mRNA into experimental animals. The protein that stimulates immune cells to produce antibodies that play an important role in preventing dangerous diseases. In addition to the advantages that this vaccine enjoys, such as high efficiency, ease of manufacture, and the inability to re-infect diseases such as live attenuated vaccines.
