Diyala Medicine holds a training course on genotypes that cause diarrhea in children
The Faculty of Medicine at the University of Diyala held a training course on the genotypes of Giardia lamblia, which causes diarrhea in children, in which Dr. Muhammad Jassim Shaker, Dr. Rawa Abd al-Khaliq Hussein, and the assistant teacher, Shahd Khudair Khalaf, lectured in the microbiology laboratory.
The course included introducing the parasite, its life cycle, and methods of diagnosis, the most important of which is the use of the polymerase chain reaction method to determine the patterns that infect children through a stool sample, and the importance of this test in determining the type of parasite, methods of treatment, and virulence factors.
The course emphasized the definition of the most important treatments used in such injuries and the doses used.
