University of Diyala/ College of Medicine holds a scientific symposium entitled (Varicose veins, diagnosis and treatment)
Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Medicine, University of Diyala, Professor Dr. Ismail Ibrahim Latif, the Continuing Education Division held a scientific symposium entitled (Varicose Veins, Diagnosis and Treatment), in which the lecturer, Dr. Ghasaq Maan Bakr, lectured. It included identifying the causes and symptoms that lead to varicose veins, and modern methods for diagnosing them, including standing for long periods, pregnancy, aging, and genetic factors. In conclusion, it was showed methods of treatment and prevention of the disease, including stretching the legs when sitting or wearing compression stockings for varicose veins, and avoiding standing or sitting for long periods, as this may lead to reducing the incidence of infection or at least not aggravating it to an advanced stage that is difficult to treat, as well as avoiding wearing tight clothing and not sitting in a crossed-legged position, controlling excess weight and here the response to treatment varies from one person to another depending on the medical condition and the results of the tests.
