Diyala College of Medicine holds a scientific symposium on (methods of assessing knowledge and clarity of questions)
The Medical Education Division at the College of Medicine held a scientific symposium entitled (Methods of assessing knowledge and clarity of questions), provided by Professor Dr. Sawsan Talib Salman and the Lecturer Dr. Basma Hamid Majeed.
The symposium included defining methods for assessing students’ knowledge and the clarity of questions and how to treat them. It shed light on the quality and types of questions. It includes essay questions, the benefits of which are testing the extent of the student’s comprehension and understanding of the subject, but it is not without the problem of being unfair in the evaluation, as the grade depends on the professor’s view and his conviction of the point of view. To overcome this difficulty and do justice to the student, detailed questions were created that divided the required requirements and the grade depending on the part to be developed in the questions, in the form of cases that were discussed and solved. Thus, the student learns how to deal with cases, diagnose them, and treat them in a sound, scientific and healthy manner.
