Diyala Medicine holds a scientific symposium on (Sterilization and how to use it in laboratories)
The Department of Anatomy at the College of Medicine, and in cooperation with the Department of Scientific Affairs, held a workshop on (Sterilization and how to use it in laboratories), provided by Assistant Lecturer Zainab Jassim Muhammad, Assistant Lecturer Reham Saad Kazem, and Assistant Lecturer Rana Fattah Mahmoud.
The workshop included a focus on the concept of sterilization and sterile materials used in educational and research laboratories to kill germs contaminating objects and their difference from disinfectants and detergents used in general life matters, especially in confronting epidemics and diseases. The uses of these materials in research laboratories and daily life were also pointed out, especially after the outbreak of epidemics. The lecturers stressed the necessity of maintaining health and safety in a clean environment, how to choose appropriate disinfectants and sterilizers, their types, the factors affecting them, the risks of using them incorrectly, causing side effects for humans and the environment, and how to reduce the risk of these pollutants on the environment
