As part of its series of awareness programmes. University of Diyala/ College of Medicine holds an awareness seminar on the role of the university student in combating extremism and terrorism and consolidating national identity
Under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Medicine, Professor Dr. Ismail Ibrahim Latif, the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit held a symposium entitled (The Role of the University Student in Combating Extremism and Terrorism and Consolidating National Identity) moderated by Assistant Professor Duraid Hamid Abdel Kazem and the Lecturer Dr. Haider Mahdi Eidan from the Anatomy Department, and the Jurist assistant lecturer, Ramadan Ghazal Noman on Wednesday, February 21, 2024. It included the definition of the word terrorism and how colonialism used it to destroy entire countries and invade them, as in the case of aggression by the Zionist entity. Here came the difference between moderation and extremism, and the definition of the phenomenon of terrorism, its determinants, and the reality of confronting it in light of international contradictions. It highlighted effective strategies and solutions in educational policies and programs to combat extremism and outlined proactive initiatives to prevent the spread of extremism by promoting noble values and morals.
