About the division: The Postgraduate Studies Division was established in the year 2018, as it was initially the Postgraduate Studies Committee, and then it developed into a postgraduate studies unit affiliated to the Research and Development Division in the college since 2011.
The most important achievements of the Graduate Studies Division:
• Introducing a master’s degree in general surgery in 2012-2013.
• Introducing the higher diploma study in the specialty of family medicine in the academic year 2014-2015.
• The introduction of a higher diploma study in the specialty of internal medicine in the academic year of 2015-2016.
• Introducing a master’s study in the field of medical microbiology in the academic year 2015-2016.
• Introducing a master’s degree in the study of pediatrics in the academic year 2016-2017.
Division objectives:
Providing civil society institutions with specialized doctors.
Tasks and duties of the Graduate Studies Division:
- Executing official correspondence to and from the university and colleges affiliated to the university.
- Administering the annual application for postgraduate studies, according to the dates announced by the Ministry, and defining an indicative center in the college to receive the files and documents of the applicants.
- Organizing competitive examination procedures for applicants in coordination with scientific field.
- Completing the procedures for organizing the files of accepted postgraduate students, including checking and verifying the documents.
- The Graduate Studies Division provides the Office of the Scientific Assistant with a daily position for conducting the final postgraduate students’ exams for the scientific disciplines, including the name of the examination material and the date of the examination with the presence and absence of students, in addition to the notes included in cases of (delay and cheating).
- The Postgraduate Studies Division enters students’ letters that were received from the academic department into the plagiarism detection program.
- Referring master’s theses and higher diplomas to the linguistic and scientific evaluators after delivering them to the department.
- Hold periodic meetings with heads of branches and sub-committees to overcome obstacles.
- Issuing administrative orders for the formation of committees to discuss postgraduate students’ theses.
- Organizing the academic biography of students who have completed the requirements for submitting the thesis to issue the university order granting them a certificate.
- Electronic archiving of annually accepted students’ files.
