Diyala medicine holds a scientific symposium on smoking

The College of Medicine at University of Diyala held a scientific symposium on smoking and its harmful effects, in which Dr. Namir Fadel lectured+266+63+66 in the continuing education hall.

The symposium targeted the harms of smoking, and the harmful effects caused by smoking, whether on the environment or health. But did you know that smoking takes the lives of more than 6 million people annually, at least, according to the statistics of the World Health Organization.

The symposium showed that the harms of smoking do not affect only one of your organs, but the effect extends to all body systems, from the respiratory system to the skin and even nails. The symposium also highlighted the harmful effects of smoking on pregnant women and the fetus, as smokers are more likely to have complications during childbirth and pregnancy, and it could lead to bleeding. Women exposed to passive smoking while they are pregnant, birth defects may occur.
