The College of Medicine at Diyala University shone during Sustainable Development Week with free medical services and impactful initiatives
These services included blood lipid profile testing, kidney and liver function tests, CRP testing to detect inflammation, blood pressure and blood sugar measurements, and the provision of appropriate health guidance.
The college also organized a medicinal herbs corner, distributed sanitizing materials and educational brochures, and held a bazaar showcasing small businesses and an art competition to promote the concepts of sustainable development.
The President of Diyala University, Professor Dr. Tahseen Hussein Mubarak, praised the College of Medicine’s outstanding participation, emphasizing that the health and humanitarian services provided by the college reflect a high level of social responsibility and embody the university’s role in linking academic knowledge with community service and promoting a culture of sustainability.
The college administration affirmed that this participation represents an extension of the college’s mission to serve the community and disseminate health awareness, aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 3 on good health and well-being, Goal 4 on quality education, Goal 8 on entrepreneurship, and Goal 17 on effective community partnerships.
