University of Diyala – College of Medicine achieve a scientific course on green energy in hospitals from theory to practice.

Under the supervision of the Dean of the college of Medicine, Prof. Dr. Ismail Ibrahim Latif within the framework of its endeavor to promote awareness of the importance of environmental sustainability, the Sustainable Development Committee, in cooperation with the Department of Physiology, and the Continuing Education Division, organized a scientific course on (Green Energy in Hospitals from Theory to Practice), presented by Head of the Physiology Department Prof. Dr. Suad Musleh El-Din, Physiaist Baraa Younis Musallam, and the rapporteur of course Engineer Hossam Faisal Badr.
The course aimed to review the practical applications of renewable energy sources in health institutions, where several topics addressed, including the definition of green energy and its importance in the health sector, and how to apply renewable energy technologies in hospitals, with a presentation of successful practical cases of the application of green energy in health institutions.
The participants endorse the importance of the transition towards sustainable energy as a means to improve the efficiency of hospitals and reduce costs, as they expressed their enthusiasm to participate in future initiatives that contribute to promoting the use of clean energy, as well as paying attention to trees and their important role in purifying the air and improving the healthy environment in hospitals, as well as safe disposal and recycling of waste, and rationalizing traditional energy consumption, in order to reduce carbon emissions.
University of Diyala – College of Medicine hopes to continue organizing such events to promote environmental culture and support innovations in sustainable development and public health.
