A lecturer at the College of Medicine in Diyala obtains a patent for developing an optical microscope during a conference in Romania

Dr. Hashim Abed Abbas, a lecturer at the College of Medicine in Diyala, along with a group of professors, obtained a patent at the International Patent Conference (INVENTCOR) in Romania.
In an innovative step, a new technology was developed to transform a conventional optical microscope into a microscope that provides three-dimensional vision, enhancing optical performance and solving many of the problems associated with conventional microscopes. This invention provides images that reflect the true shape and size of the specimen, contributing to higher accuracy in observation and analysis, especially in medical and laboratory applications. It promises to positively change the way samples are studied and analyzed in various fields.
The developed microscope enables three-dimensional vision of the specimen under the microscope, improving the accuracy of laboratory diagnostics and the study of cells and microscopic organisms. The system can be mounted on any readily available optical microscope, with low cost and high operational efficiency. Furthermore, the device can be operated using a low-power source or dry battery. Areas of application include hospitals and specialized medical laboratories, scientific research centers and universities, health institutions affiliated with the Ministries of Health and Higher Education, as well as practical education areas in the biological and medical sciences.
