Diyala Medical Council Holds Twelfth Open Session, Commends Success Rates for 2024-2025 Academic Year

The College of Medicine Council at the University of Diyala held its twelfth open session for the 2024-2025 academic year on Sunday, June 29, 2025. The session was chaired by the Dean of the College, Professor Ismail Ibrahim Latif, and attended by the Dean’s Assistants for Scientific and Administrative Affairs and the heads of the scientific branches, who are members of the Council.
The session was devoted to discussing the final results of the first phase and the success rates for the first round. Council members commended the excellent results achieved and voted unanimously to approve them.
The Council also discussed the College’s preparations for postgraduate studies, competitive examination procedures, and ways to develop postgraduate programs in clinical and basic medical specialties to ensure the highest levels of quality and academic excellence.
The session included a scientific symposium presented by Professor Adel Hassan, Head of the Pharmaceuticals Department, during which he reviewed the latest pharmaceutical products and approved treatments for stomach and digestive system diseases. The Council concluded its work by discussing the items on the agenda, affirming the College’s commitment to enhancing academic and administrative performance to contribute to raising the academic standards of students and researchers.
