College of Medicine – Diyala Organizes Scientific Seminar on Mycorrhiza and Its Vital Role in Sustainable Agriculture

Under the supervision of Professor Dr. Ismail Ibrahim Latif, Dean of the College of Medicine – Diyala, and as part of the ongoing efforts to promote sustainable agriculture, the Continuing Education Division organized a scientific seminar titled “Mycorrhiza and Its Vital Role in Sustainable Agriculture.” The seminar was presented by Agricultural Engineer Hossam Faisal Badr from the Continuing Education Division.
The seminar focused on introducing mycorrhiza, explaining that it is not merely a type of fungi, but rather plays a crucial role in helping plants grow under challenging conditions. Mycorrhiza enhances the absorption of nutrients and water, leading to increased crop productivity. The discussion also addressed how these fungi can be utilized to improve soil quality and promote sustainability. Mycorrhiza offers an eco-friendly solution to agricultural production, reducing reliance on chemical fertilizers and pesticides.
In conclusion, the seminar emphasized that mycorrhiza is a vital component of the agricultural ecosystem, contributing to healthy soil balance and improved crop yields. Utilizing these fungi in innovative ways can significantly support sustainable agriculture and help ensure a better future for generations to come.
